A registration fee of 800-900 Yuan (RMB) will be charged for meeting expenses (1000-1100 Yuan (RMB) with banquet dinner) including coffee breaks, lunches and transportation during the meeting. Payments can be made by cash only.
Please email the organizers to request an official invitation letter for the Chinese visa application. In your request, provide your full name (as shown in your passport) and detailed contact information.
Accommodations: 60 standard rooms have been reserved at Jin Gu Hotel (4 stars, located on Central Street in downtown Harbin) for the meeting from Jan. 12 to 17 with a discount price of 450-Yuan (RMB) per night including breakfast.
Room reservations must be confirmed by ICST with Jin Gu Hotel before Dec. 15, 2008.
Early registration is strongly encouraged in order to guarantee a room and the discount price.
Transportation:
  • Before you travel: you may want to check airport security information.
  • Airport to hotel: HIT can arrange pick-up by shuttle bus from the airport. If you would like to take advantage of this option, please provide your arrival flight information to the organizers as soon as you book your plane tickets. The fee will be collected during registration.
  • Hotel to HIT: Shuttle bus service to HIT will leave every morning at 8:30am from outside the hotel main gate. Shuttle bus schedule during the meeting is available here.
  • Getting around by taxi: please see these instructions. They include addresses in Chinese, so you may want to keep a printed copy with you to show drivers.

Meeting rooms: The meeting will be held at the International Conference Center (Building 2H, map) in HIT Science Park.
Internet access (both cabled and wireless) will be available in the meeting rooms.
You can print documents in rooms 204 or 519.
Sightseeing: HIT may arrange a trip to the ICE-Snow World, Snow Sculpt and Northeast Tiger Forest Garden during the meeting period. The cost for sightseeing is estimated to be less than 400 Yuan (RMB) per person. Details and contact numbers for organizers are available here. Note that the temperature during the meeting is expected to be -10 to -20oC (14 to -4oF) during daytime and below -15oC (5oF) at night, so warm clothing is a must when outdoors and non-slip boots/shoes are recommended.
